Well we are trying it again.  Last year Huronia Museum made its first attempt at holding an Easter event.  We came up with something new and unique, putting a twist on a classic.  We excited and planned everything down to the last detail, at least that’s what we thought!

Turns out we completely underestimated the demand for glow in the dark Easter events.  To say that the response was overwhelming would be a huge understatement.  We had nearly triple the expected number of participants and we at a bit of a loss as to how to handle them.  That said, we learned a few valuable lessons and have regrouped older, wiser and with a much better plan.

So please come out and join us for the second annual Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7 from 1 PM to 3 PM.  Admission is $1 per participant and a non perishable food item for the Salvation Army Food Bank.

For more information please contact the museum at 705-526-2844.

Easter with a twist

April 13, 2011

Huronia Museum is getting in the Easter spirit!

Join us on Saturday, April 23rd for cookie decorating and a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt.  Bring the kids and enjoy a unique twist on a traditional egg hunt, exploring the museum in the dark and collecting your eggs to win a prize.

Plus kids can have fun decorating their very own Easter cookie and take part in our colouring contest to win a free week of camp.

Our Easter egg hunt will run from 1 PM to 3 PM on Saturday April 23rd.  The cost is $1 per child and a non-perishable food item.

This event is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Midland Lions Club.

Colouring Contest Winner

June 24, 2010

We have finally picked the winner from our Summer Jam Coouring contest.  The winning entry was submitted by 7 year old Ethan, who has won a free week of camp at Huronia Museum

Done by Ethan, age 7

His picture was chosen in a draw from among the 24 entries submitted.  That was a record number of submissions for our colouring contest.

However all of our entries looked great and were very carefully coloured by the artists, so I thought I would post a few more for people to take a look at.

The start of camp is just days away and I hope that all of our entrants will join us for a little fun and excitement this summer.

Thank you to all of the children who entered the contest.  You did beautiful work.
